A couple of weeks ago I watched an episode of Food Detectives, on this certain episode they were showing how much sugar is in different food items, there is a lot of sugar in just about everything, so I decided to cut sugar and white flour out of my diet, I am 2 weeks and 2 days strong, except I am weak now. The first couple of days weren't so difficult and I was told once I got past the 2 week mark it would be a breeze, that was a lie. I was doing my weekly shift at the temple and I felt very weak, my peeps made me take a quick break (I only work 3 hours). I am hungry all the time, this goes to show that all I eat is sugar because I never went hungry when I was eating it.
I have to go now, John is making me eat tuna. John says this is good for me because then I will get a little idea of what life is like for him.
yeah, we've tried to almost completely cut white flour out of our food...and we've cut back significantly on sugar-at least the refined sugars and most definitely the high fructose corn syrup (except ketchup, we still use that-can you believe it's even in that?!)...and dave makes us all eat fish once a week for health reasons... good luck with that all, that stinks you felt weak, we haven't had that happen yet...
ReplyDeleteI tried going carb-free and after about 2 weeks I wanted to kill anyone who crossed me. I wasn't a happy person to be around. That's when I decided that moderation in all things was the best thing for me. But kudos to you for going sugard-free.
ReplyDeleteIt's awesome you made it two weeks. I can barely go a day. I've heard, too, that it gets easier, but I'm no expert in that area. Let me know how it goes!
ReplyDeleteI've found that if I eat natural sugars such as dried fruit or even honey that it helps with the fatigue and after a month or two the craving for refined sugar dies way down. Some things start tasting way to sweet that seemed normal before.
