I know it is a boring title and some find it to be a tedious task but I see it as Heavenly Father's way of being there for each of us and I see it as being very important. Since I am in the process of moving things have been a bit crazy at my house. My visiting teachers were planning on visiting me before I moved out of the ward but all of our appointments kept having to be rescheduled for one reason or another. I really enjoy the girls that visit me they bring such a sweet spirit and I always enjoy the message they leave. Yesterday we were all going to meet after the Provident Living class, at a sister's house in the ward and they were going to visit me there. I was feeling too stressed out about everything and I just needed to get home to pack so I cancelled the appointment. I went about my way collecting boxes and newspaper (thank you so much Julia) for packing when I got a phone call from one of the sisters who visit teaches me, she had told me to call her if I needed anything but I guess she wasn't going to wait for me and she asked if she could come over to help me pack, I told her I thought that would be nice, she then asked if I had eaten lunch, she knows I have been too busy to take time out to find something to eat. A little while later we met up at my house and she just started cooking while I packed. We enjoyed a delicious lunch and after a short visit I went back to packing and she started washing my dishes (by hand).
The spiritual message may have not been left by words but she spoke it very well by her actions. I feel so blessed to have someone like her in my life. It is not like me to accept help from others so having her come into my home and take care of me the way that she did was wonderful. My heart is so full of gratitude for the wonderful people in my life out here in the desert. I am so thankful for the visiting teaching program and I am now more committed to doing my calling with more heart so the women I visit feel the love that I have also felt.
Thank you.
What a sweet Visiting Teacher! That's what Visiting Teaching is really all about--making a difference if the life of someone!
