It's a Good Thing I Bought 3 of Them

Last night I went to Fry's grocery (it's the same as Smith's) to purchase the really cheap watermelons they have on sale. I was thinking about how many to get and since I can eat a whole one by myself in a day I got three.

This afternoon I got a knock on my door and it was the city of Mesa "here to turn off my water". The man treated me like a criminal. I tried to explain to him that we had just purchased the house on Friday, since they are now closed Fridays I was not able to get a hold of a person then. I also told him that I DID call yesterday and was told I couldn't set my account up over the phone because the previous owners still owe on the account and was told I need to bring in proof that I purchased the home (why someone would want to set up an account to pay utility bills for someone else's house, I wouldn't know).

No, I was not told that there was a possibility that my water could be shut off if I didn't bring my purchase documents to them yesterday. To top it off Bryan was a jerk. Bryon is the man who shut the water off with out letting me try to contact the city of Mesa and set up an account over the phone and take them the documents they needed later, but worse I asked him if I could at least fill up a pitcher of water so I don't go thirsty the rest of the day and he wouldn't he just walked over and turned off my water.

Of course I am now even more thirsty because I have NO water. Well not to worry I opened the fridge and saw a beautiful watermelon sitting there when I realized it is made up of like 80% water. I am now very glad that I love watermelon so much that I purchased 3 of them.

  1. Water companies are jerks! I had the same experience when I moved into a condo. I hope you get it all sorted out. P.S. Rob could eat an entire watermelon by himself, too. Must be a Lambert thing.

  3. oh man when I was reading this story I thought you might have smashed the watermelon on the guy!!! ha ha shows my train of thought! Gosh I know he's just doing his job but ohh that makes me mad..good people like you always get the shaft but the problem is that this guy is used to dealing with a bunch of loosers and he doesnt know who he can trust sad but true! I am glad you didnt smash him with the watermelon and instead had a nice one you could savor while you went without water!!!!!!!!!!! honestly that shouldnt be allowed in the middle of "He--! aka ARIZONA!" :0)
