I am literally in the refiners fire. Sunday night I noticed the temperature in our house was 82 degrees instead of the 80 degrees was set at. I didn't think much of it since it had been 113 degrees all day, maybe the AC was just struggling to keep up with the heat. At 3:00 in the morning I awoke and thought,it was really hot in the room so I went to check the temperature and sure enough it was hot, no matter how low I set the temp the AC would not turn on, it was broken and I was hot. I finally got back to sleep two hours later. I called the home warranty and set up an appointment for the AC guy to come check it out. They told me they would be here today between 8-10.
Last night John and I weren't sure what we were going to do about sleep, a couple of members in our ward told us we could stay the night at their house. We decided it might be fun to go to a hotel for the night so we left our 95 degree house and went to dinner then headed to our hotel.
At this point I was very hot and tired and just wanted to be in my nice cool house in my own bed. It is now tomorrow and it is still really hot in my house, I wouldn't be here but I have to wait for the repair guy, who called and said it will now be another hour and a half. I REALLY hope he can get it fixed today, Arizona is not a fun place to spend the summer without air conditioning. It is all good though we will get AC and the fire will be out.
Last summer before Robert and I got married, I got the stomach flu really bad. I went to the doctor, and when I came home, there was a notice on the door that the utilities had been turned off. I called the city and they said that I had requested to turn off the utilities, but I hadn't. They said they would come turn them back on, but it might take a while. It was one of those 100+ days and when you already have a fever and you're puking and you can't even flush the toilet or get a drink of water, it's bad. The utilities were finally turned back on around 6 that night, but it was one day of pure hell. I'm sorry that you've had your AC not working for a few days. Good idea on the hotel.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the idea with the ghetto AC. I am hoping it works. I appreciate your post because it reminds me that I do have water and I don't have a fever, thank you. I am so glad that I have water and ice and a pool, although it is almost too hot even to swim in the pool, crazy huh. You are great Jen.
