John and I were able to get away on a little adventure yesterday we went to Tonto Natural Bridge near Payson, AZ. It was so fun. There were several small trails this photo is from our hike under the Bridge. Tonto Bridge is the largest natural travertine bridge in the world and it is only getting bigger. If you look closely you can see that we are wet it is a slippery trek over big boulders.
You are not allowed to swim because the water is greater than 20 feet deep. During the summer monsoons the water gets so high it is over the large rocks so it creates a waterfall that pushes the rocks at the bottom up to the ground which makes the water even deeper. The water is so clear.
He only looks like he is praying. These photos are backwards and they look cooler if you look at them that way.
It was so beautiful we enjoyed all the green, we don't see much green around here.
There were several small trails this photo is from our first trail. There was a small waterfall, John being the curious type had to go under the fall to explore the cave behind it. After our day in the state park we drove back to Payson for dinner we stopped at a small Italian Bistro that we had been to last year. The food was so remarkable, it was better than the first time even. The day was so wonderful. I am really looking forward to our next adventure.
Okay, so I thought you lived in the desert. I thought you were surrounded by brown terrain and stucco homes. You're definitely living in a different AZ than I know!
