Names are incredibly difficult to pick out. Really why should one human being be able to decide the name of another? John and I had Brigham's name picked out the first few months we were married, we fell in love with the name John Brigham and hoped we would one day be able to use it. We have never been able to come up with a name for a girl, if my name wasn't Rebecca we would use it but it is my name.
John and I decided on the name Brinley, neither of us liked the name the first time we heard it but then it grew on us, more so now on John than me. I don't really like the spelling of it but I can't spell it Brinlie because her name would have "lie" in it and that wont do. We could spell it Brinlee or Brinlei or Brynlee. I really don't know what to do at this point.
The name I had picked out before we found out that for sure we are having a girl (I had a hunch we were having a baby girl) is Aspen or Aspyn Mae. I really liked it at first but after I found out that a lot of people are using the name I decided probably not and John wasn't a fan of the beginning sound.
Do you have any suggestions or opinions? As of now her name is Brinley Mae.
That is tough. I always hate having to pick a name. We always pick two or three names we like and then wait till we see them to decide what to do. We also use a family name for the middle name and then pick first names that go with the middle name. I am not sure what to tell you but good luck!
ReplyDeleteI hate picking out names, so I'm no help. But I do like the name Brinley. Even after Morgan was born and we finally decided on her name I had the hardest time writing it down on the social security information. I went through the two name books my cousin gave me and wrote down whatever names I liked or even somewhat liked. Morgan was the last name on our list and wasn't even one I gave a second thought to until we went through the names after she was born. Maybe just going through names and jotting down ones that you like will help. And remember, you don't have to decide now. You still have 4 months.
ReplyDeleteThat's a tough one. Personally, I like Brynlee. But I am with Nicole on seeing the baby before you decide. I wondered if Maggie would even look like a Maggie, so I waited first before officially deciding.
ReplyDeleteMy niece's name is spelled Brynley. I think it's adorable and the spelling isn't too 'made up.'
